Why would not recommend https://www.national-broadband.co.uk/

Firm could not tell difference between man and woman found kind odd then claimed my trustpilot was not real or correct. I got a pretty common first name it has being proved most primary school kids can spell five letter names but they could not found a bit odd. I also found it odd guy claimed to be Scottish but could not say my surname right making him come across dumber more we talked.  https://www.theengineer.info/2025/08/starlink-promises-not-delivered-myth-of.html Makes me wonder if all the reviews they got  were fake by how he claim across to me on the phone. Always amazes me how many broadband firms got shit customer care foir why want a refund over extreme dumbness from team. internet service came in a cheap plastic bag did not look good had holes over them using very cheap plastic as cover.

Internet use on the Pi

A lot of people like about it giving inbuilt add blocker the standard form of Chromium  with all the adds or other issues made by  Google for why it should load very fast for  you ,it kind of reminds me of using the older browsers before it became all about the ads which Google made into big thing in the past or present a like.   I think a problem many people have not worked out yet if you want to make a website attractive  you need balance between to much ads and no ads for things to work well but the Pi takes care of this problem out of the bow by it's starting browser being decided to get around the internet speed you loss from to many ads. You can if you prefer easy install Brave I use it a lot of  the system as well seems to work as well as the starter internet browser you get so kind of what you prefer you may prefer Firefox or something else. Tor works well on it as well so if you want to go down more the privacy mode many options exist and will work...

Why you may want a Raspberry pi?

The computer is around the size of debit or credit card so tiny size the storage is normally done on SD card but you can use other storage if you want to get more into things. What Is It? At its core, the Raspberry Pi is a tiny, low-cost computer . It usually stores data on a microSD card, but can also use external drives for more complex setups. It runs Linux (most often Raspberry Pi OS), but you can install other operating systems too. 🕹️ What People Use It For The Pi’s flexibility makes it a gateway into dozens of fun or useful projects. Some common use cases include: 🎮 Retro Gaming & Older Software Emulate classic consoles (NES, SNES, PlayStation, etc.). Run vintage PC software or create retro-style games. 💻 Learn and Practice Coding Get hands-on with Linux , command-line tools, and programming languages like Python, Scratch, or C++. NEOCORE E2s Pro Edition (Case+Keyboard+Mouse)| 10.1'' Android Tablet | 20GB RAM | 128GB Storage | 15h+ Battery Review

First thought like  the idea of having a service using Android since is a very good OS for doing anything from simple taking photos or playing games or using so many different apps for free or cheap money plus loads fast and is perfect  from a user friendly viewpoint   The idea of bigger display size than the usual phone was good idea plus it was not to big to carry and when I took it around my local area was not heavy to lift at all . Touch keyboard was pretty good but I preferred the physical keyboard it was good sized in the sense not to small where typing becomes hard or complex kind of perfect on the viewpoint of not to small or big here so easy to carry with you overall. I noticed when I tried first using it like installing the software which looked kind of odd since never seen it kept saying errors throughout guess could be why it never worked over bad OS in this case for this style of Android since it did look like to me custom made form of it. If you are concerned about online privacy

If you are concerned about online privacy You can solve that by buying a Raspberry 5 it will have adblocker preinstalled in it's first browser you can install brave very quick and easy or Tor or other ones If you don't want to go down the full Linux rabbit hole for example I got a Kali laptop Pi is good enough introduction for you. I would get 8GB ram if you want 4GB should be fine. You need a SD card of at least 60GB if not it will get you forced to keep removing things if you want bigger like I got 128GB then go with that option or bigger.  https://www.theengineer.info/2025/02/why-amiga-coding-still-matters-look-at.html To setup a raspberry with wireless mouse and keyboard and computer and monitor cost around £110 based on Raspberry Pi 4 that was cost to setup my one fully.

Why Amiga Coding Still Matters: A Look at the Impact on Modern Game Development?

The computers were first created in the 1985 to 19940's as end of their life. The best way I could explain them is like across between Windows and Linux in the sense vety easy to do jobs with but still little bit hard to work. A lot of people loved how easy it was work doing complex this is why many software engineers started on it the following countrys had many use them often in  the past United Kingdom Canada New Zealand Australia Poland South Africa  A lot of people made many different things with it such as Videogames Music Softwares Many of the video games were way better than windows or Apple it was at the time best for gaming more less plus better that SNES or Mega drive No real mascot game existed but many good ones existed such as Lemmings a great puzzlegame got released many times. Toughbook  CF-19 Dune 2 could be considered one of the first games to  do command and conquer style of game very for getting resources or fighting the other army dur...

History into programming

x April 16, 2022 That was the vision for Analytical Engine devised by British inventor Charles Babbage in 1837. He is credited with the machine invention. https://www.theengineer.info/2025/01/if-you-want-to-move-away-from-windows.html It was possible his mate Ada Lovelace who best could understand potential that computers would do in the future. She was the daughter of Romantic poet Lord Byron Lovelace was gifted Mathematician and intellectual who have the skills to be able to translate a Italian article about Analytical Engine and supplement it with his own notes on the machine possible capabilities. Where the lady managed to explain clearly the Babbage had been able to do where the Algorithm is explained and normally thought as the first ever computer program. Lovelance sadly past away early into the friendship with Mr Babbage and the Analytical was never ever build except for the pages of the Thrilling Adventures

If you want to move away from Windows try Linux this a good option for you

You can have a working Raspberry Pi 5 working including buying a mouse and keyboard to get wireless and monitor for around £110 or if you want a bigger harddrive or SD card with 120gb, it goes up to the total cost of around £210. I have not used Windows in like 4 years I guess after Windows 10 and saw all it's issues stopped using it. I  have three or four Pis so far including pi 2 and 3 and 4 so far. Windows is probably harder to work than Linux for installing or making improvements. Whenever Windows did updates had to spend a few hours or longer changing or it get super slow again. https://www.theengineer.info/2025/01/introduction-to-being-anonymous-online.html Don't get put off by some Linux elitist people who see themselves as superior to all non Linux people or people use different ones such as Mint or Debian among others you could install. Rasbian is  a debrian system  Cases are good way to protect plus it allows you to keep them running better since move less than ...

Introduction to being anonymous online

A Raspberry Pi when you buy it will have a decent anonymous build-in already you can easily add proxies if you need it or use purely TOR if you want. I would get 120GB SD card will make sense later on for why I am suggesting this one. You can have more than one operating system work on this computer such as have a Mint or Raspbian or another system from this card not hard to setup up.  https://www.theengineer.info/2024/12/mageegee-v650-wireless-keyboard-and.html You just need a keyboard and mouse connected best wireless style and plug for the Pi and monitor You can install privacy using this   A popular, open-source, and easy-to-configure proxy software. To install Squid on Raspberry Pi, you can:  Open a terminal session via SSH .https://www.beardiehq.com/ Run sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get upgrade to update packages  Run sudo apt-get install squid  The Squid service should start automatically after installation. You can configure Squid by editing t...

MAGEEGEE V650 wireless keyboard and mouse combo

Table of contents  1 introduction 2 Pros 3 Cons  Introduction Nice black main colour with most of the keys being black colour with white lettering over them. Most important keys such as Esc and enter are red coloured with white letters of them. Seond most important keys are grey coloured which is a nice feature. Has a very strong 1990's Amiga look of them but with bit of a modern look here. Mouse looks pretty bog standard looks wise  except little bigger size wise Pros  Feels nice Big sized keys but not to big Nice colours Not to heavy  Cons Mouse moves well and sound good https://www.theengineer.info/2024/12/raspberry-pi-tips.html Amateur customer care asking silly questions Takes up more space than most keyboards meaning it has extra space at the bottom taking up space here mouse is a bit big

Raspberry Pi Tips

Table of content  1 Laptop cases  2. Raspberry Pi operation system 3 Coding with the Pi examples 4 Gaming on the Pi Crowpi lite low quality product with very weak plastic not designed to handle ping or fall so your pi could get damaged on the transport each time you move it. You lose one of the USB spaces to connect a very low quality piece of plastic to connect plastic to the laptop or Pi parts. The horrible white colour though it looks like the cheapest colouring was used on the case giving it a horrible tacky look to it all over. Make to allow a pi 4b to connect to it all but it would not work over bad designing flaws such as very little space to move parts together and screws or legs did nothing to improve it's clear design flaws. 2 Raspberry Pi operation system To start it up all you do is connect to the internet once that is down it should start working fast and easily your first browser is Chromium basically the internet browser at a core function level without...

Thoughts on Crowpi Lite

Table of contents  Introduction into Crowpi Lite   Heading 1 Heading 2. Heading 3 Plastic                      Heading 4 packaging  Introduction into Crowpi Lit Meant to be a laptop case with keyboard build in a mouse the inbuilt mouse is to small for any adult to be able to click  unless they have child like hands  so pointless features to me . Waste one USB to start it up making you go down from four to three may not seem a issue when you first use it but all the usbs on pi have many different uses so getting one gone is not good idea overall. Meant to be able to be able to put a  Pi into it to make the Rasbperry turn into a laptop computer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_TghaAByBqE Colours The white colour here looks horrible like you used the cheapest paint you could get your hands on which makes it look horrible would not be surprised if it give someone a ...

Gaming on a Pi with a mouse for game Shattered Pixel Dungon

The style is very much 1990s style of dungeon games but with a bit of better looks here, I would guess it's like 8 bit one here maybe bit higher bit here. You will see  before the proper game a very high-quality background that does show you how much graphics the Pi can support gameplay wise. The gameplay will change all the time which is kind of cool you start of as a knight which means you have just the basic attacks but being mage gives you a lot of quality range attacks which are very good for taking down far away enemys which is very useful and a good way to not lose as much health. The level will change each time you play it which is very cool giving it a lot of good replay value for free games with the computer it's not bad by means of decent quality with a lot of replay value here. RPG style from the 1990s looks great and the monsters such as the snakes or other ones look good you will find through the gameplay a lot of items to collect which is pretty cool such as w...

Thought on Xsnow for a Raspberry Pi

Stops your Pi  going into sleep mode or ending up shutting down and does look pretty with snow or over effects going and down notes drain the strength of the computer to much which is pretty cool. Installing it's very simple to put into the Terminal area"Xsnow" it should get installed pretty quick then when you click it in the game area it should load instant and you can change the setting if you ever feel it's draining to much strength from your CPU1 to 4 and it could be used as a distraction if you ever need it for reason .  Reminds me strongly of like the cool flash games of the past giving it a very strong 1990 style look to it all such as from the Amiga sort of time period    https://www.theengineer.info/2024/10/raspberry-pi-coding-examples.html

Raspberry Pi coding examples

Review of Wireless Keyboard Mouse Combo, cimetech 2.4G Ultra-Thin Keyboard and Mouse Set with Sleek Ergonomic Silent Design & Stable Connection for Windows PC Laptop Computer (QWERTY UK Layout, Black

First thoughts The keyboard looks pretty big and weird looking and mouse is a bit big now if someone has a very big hands many  of use to them but for most people, it takes up to much space. When I first tried the mouse it was moving so slow like it had been broken or used for like 2 years so I could not click anything without a lot of effort was pretty discount by that when I first used it and also needing both double and  triple AAA battery seems to me a bit overkill I thought.  https://www.funwithferrets.co.uk/ The keyboard work for like 1 day at most but it performs like a keyboard which is like 2 years from being stuck in a warehouse for why I ended up getting a refund from it off Amazon.  https://www.theengineer.info/2024/01/amazon-website-thoughts.html

Amazon website thoughts

Table of contents Introduction Pros Cons General thoughts about the website Final points The idea behind Amazon is to allow people to be able to buy and sell products easily where all the parts are done from you once you add your payment  account from the Bank it should workout problems normally Sometimes accounts are not able to work in it I found a few times that the website does normally load incredibly fast which is key area of importance in regards to having any website but mostly for e-commerce since speed increases sales a lot of time for why it would be a good idea to allow people to make the purchase fast without big delays which is often a problem when it comes to website building stuff like Wordpress often horrible for e-commerce even when you use Woocommerce through it all.  https://www.theengineer.info/2024/01/sgin-laptop-156-display-laptop-12gb-ram.html Pros Loads fast Easy to find things normally Easy to make a purchase normally Cons Make canceling produc...

SGIN Laptop 15.6" Display Laptop 12GB RAM 512GB SSD Storage(TF Card 512GB), Celeron, Full Size Keyboard, 2xUSB 3.0, Dual Band WiFi (Black) Brand: SGIN

Key problems here The mouse can click itself without someone touching it can't be switched of meaning anything you trying to do you can't shut it off meaning you are screwed when the mouse stops working they offered me £50 discount if I received many instead of trying to trick me to give good review make a better product? IT scams at me low quality crap from China made using second hand parts or poorly designed a equipment it stopped working very quick after I  started it and also I noticed it Struble to install Windows new system on the computer to complete it crashed a few times here on the first day I Got it.  https://www.theengineer.info/2024/01/is-windows-11-as-bad-as-so-many-people.html Microphone does not work well and it can work or not work at random. Speaker is super quiet hard to hear anything using it and also  it at random makes a horrible loud sound even when you not doing anything major with the computer real big appointment here. Everything seem to o...

Is Windows 11 as bad as so many people claim?

First thoughts It loads fast it has a much better display than Windows 10.  I was not a fan of Windows 10 it was overall very unattractive to see or work with overall and they tried so hard to like force the app ideas towards people which did not improve the user experience in anyway overall just make things get slow or not work well overall. Only thing I did not like the idea of being forced to make a email address or use run it seemed pretty overkill to me.  https://www.techradar.com/news/windows-11-home-and-pro The start up system is a bit slow here since so much updating has  get done in order for it to be ready to work. It would be good idea to not force people to start using Edge give other options such as Chrome or Brave or something else would be good idea since Edge is pretty slow running overall and not that good from a speed viewpoint Brave is my favorite browser at the moment for speed improvements and also because it protects your data better than Googl...
